The streets of Astera are a maze. Since the buildings are built so close together, it often gets difficult to tell if you're in an alley or on a main road, especially if you are not a native. It may seem flat from certain locations, but that can be a deceptive deduction. This may seem inconsequential, but if one decides to take a stroll across the city with that assumption, they'd only find themselves breathless as they scale the countless inclined pathways that twist and turn around the cozy white homes.

There are many open squares in Astera that can get accessed by the countless streets. People who are visiting Astera for the first time sometimes chance upon it without realizing, perhaps as a pleasant surprise due to the sudden change in the vista. The squares are always bustling. There is either an event, maybe a small competition, or merchants setting up their stalls to sell their eclectic goods; there is always something to do at a square. People who wish to rent a space in a square often face tremendous competition.

The piers are a very popular area of Astera, more for the residents than the tourists. Its perfect in its simplicity, just a wooden structure that extends into the azure ocean. It supports large sun-umbrellas that function as a shield when it gets too hot. Folding tables are often set out as well, for added comfort. There is a soft lilt of the crashing waves to lull a visitor into a sense of serenity and peace. The breeze carries the salty scent of the ocean as it combs through the regulars.

Coastal towns are often bestowed with docks, for ease of access and to support the merchants that prefer the sea route. However, unlike the larger port towns in Fiore, the docks in Astera bear a rather quaint waterfront. Usually, upon visiting one would find a modest set of simple wooden boats moored to the wharf. A single prong extends into the sea to provide more area for the boats and smaller ships to anchor themselves. From the docks, one gets a good view of the sea and the beacon that is built next to a small cliff.

As one veers away from the main town, the rocky cliffs become more accessible. It makes for a wonderful path to stroll, but requires a certain amount of care to not fall down from certain parts. In general, if one doesn't stray off too much, there shouldn't be any danger. The tallest portion of the cliffs is famous for being a great spot to dive from. Coincidentally, the depths that one can plunge into from here are adorned with brightly colored corals and reefs; a gift perhaps reserved for the brave.

Board Description
Astera
The coastal town of Astera is very densely constructed. The buildings look like a carpet of white that is cradled between two shallow mountains. From afar, the town looks very uniform in appearance, but as one finds themselves within it, each nook and cranny has a surprise to offer. Overall, the picturesque town is full with interesting experiences and makes for a wonderful tourist spot. The azure sea is usually pretty calm, and makes for a breath taking view.
